Achaari Chicken Recipe
Ingredients
750 g chicken
100 ml oil
1 tbsp methi dana( fenugreek seeds)
1 tsp rai dana ( black mustard seeds)
1 tbsp saunf ( fennel seeds)
1 tbsp kalonji seeds (nigella seeds)
2 tbsp coriander whole
½ tsp crushed red chillies
1 tsp red chili powder
2 medium tomatoes (pureed)
100g yogurt
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
5-6 Big Green chillies
½ tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp red chili powder (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp cumin seeds
5 tbsp lemon juice
Salt to taste
Directions
- Prepare the Achaar masala:
In a grinder add coriander, methi dana, kalonji, saunf and cumin. Grind it to a coarse powder. - Filling of Green Chillies:
Slit the green chillies and remove seeds now take 1 tbsp of prepared achaar mix and 1 tbsp of chaat masala and mix both spices with 5 to 6 tbsp of lemon juice.
Fill all the green chillies with the prepared mixture.
Now set them aside. - Heat the Oil:
In a pot add 100 mil oil and add chicken . Fry it until it changes color then add ginger garlic paste and give it a stir.
Add remaining achar masala, rai dana, crushed red chillies, salt, turmeric powder and red chili powder and cook for another 5 minutes.
Gradually add water to prevent burning of spices.
Add tomato puree and cook until oil starts to separate from the masala.
Add yogurt and cook for another 15 minutes. - Add Green Chillies:
Add the green chillies on top and cook them on very low flame for 10 more minutes.
Serve hot with naan, roti, or jeera rice.
